How responsive is the 85L mkII with the metabones adapter while manually focusing or auto focusing? Just curious since it is a focus by wire lens.
With auto focus it's very slow, not suitable for moving subjects however it seem to be very accurate. It's actually very easy to focus manually, the focus by wire is surprisingly good when coupled with the magnify feature on the A7. I find it easier to manually focus than on the 35L my copy has a bit of play in the focus collar which makes it more difficult to fine adjust focus.

Mine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow - I understood that the A7r, due to the lack of the electronic 1st curtain, is relatively vulnerable to camera/lens combo movement on long exposures. Has any of you guys tried this out with your largish Canon lens(es) on sturdy support? Any result worthwhile mentioning? Thanks!
It is a 36MP camera, which is more susceptible to shake and Sony (deliberately or not) omitted this feature while the 24MP A7 has this feature. What's up with that?
Jim Kasson has been looking at the shutter vibration question concerning the Leica M240 and D800. He just posted results with the a7R: http://blog.kasson.com/?p=3757

This Sony sensor really has me excited, I’m just seeing things big and small that I’m not use to.
I'm enjoying MF on my a7r a lot, it just gets easier the more I do it.
Here's a sample that I just don't see with my other body's, hand held/NO sharpening done/MF.
a7r w/ Canon 70-200 f2.8 II@ f3.5
100% crop
My 5DIII is a great camera but at 100% crop I just don't get that kind of detail and resolution, even using the same lens.

Interesting that the focus by wire seems to work better for you on the A7/r. I have tried manually focusing the 85L on my 5D2 and just got frustrated with the lag between turning the ring - electronics.......... - adjusting the actual elements.

Playing around with the a7r’s dynamic range, seeing how clean I can get inside the shadows. The image was completely dark except the sunset, temp was 7* outside.

Since it was completely dark did you notice the buffalo in front of you while you were out there?

Yes, the image I posted is what I actually seen. I underexposed on purpose so I could work on shadow recovery, thats what the sensor is known for and it did not disappoint.
Maybe I missed it, but how much shift do you get without the spacer? I use the Manfrotto geared head with my TS-Es, and that doesn't use a standard dovetail plate, so the Hejnar L-bracket (or any other, for that matter) doesn't seem like a good solution for me.
Also mirror the other poster's question about which metabones you have, as I remember seeing a photo yesterday of the Hejnar spacer not fitting the Metabones v3.

Fast6 :
Without the spacer I can shift around 75% on the 90TSE (not measured precisely).
Indeed, there was a problem with my spacer doesn't fiting into metabones. After contacting Hejnar, the problem was only myself, I ordered the spacer for metabones v1, when we all need the v2/3 (v2 and v3 have same foot). Hopefully my father can do such machine piece, and this morning we machined my spacer to create dove tails and it fit perfectly now. Once more the error was only mine.
