Low ISO dynamic range advantage is mostly seen after pp work like shadow lifting
Respectful disagreed with you on this one, electronic does not work this way. Either lower grade component or higher grade one underneath the integrate IC. Great integrity data has to be there first before emulating DR game in post.

Since I can't put my TS-E lenses in front of a D800E, I've been poking around at MFDBs, pancake cameras, and some pretty sweet lenses. Was starting to look like ~25-30kUSD...ouch...even buying everything used...
And then this nice little A7r comes along. I'm having a hard time being convinced why this shouldn't be my solution for architecture. Don't care about AF or frame rate, and I get to keep my lenses, AND it has real live view which is still a major shortcoming of MFDB? Finger hovering over "Order" button...

So you cannot use the viewfinder on the A7r if you are shooting tethered? It's live view right?
Why not, EVF & LCD both receive data from imaging sensor. They both available seconds after cam pwr turned on unless we have option to disable them.

A review of the A7R from Thailand. It takes very long to load all the pages and photos. And you need a translator to read it. But there is a lot of stuff about the camera. And pics with many different kind of lenses. http://pantip.com/topic/31228622

Sony Australia are offering a free Sony LA-EA4 or Metabones adapter via redemption for all A7 and A7r purchased until March 31 2014.
Here's some info:
· All adapters will be via redemption (leaflet inside every A7 box).
· Adapters will be available for A7 / A7 kit & A7R (every model will have the leaflet).
· This will actually be an ongoing promotion until end March 31st 2014 so will be advertised in catalogues and web, Facebook already announced.
· Even though the promotion will carry on for a while, you can still advertise “Pre-order now and receive a FREE Lens Adapter – Use A7 with your existing Lens system!” By redemption
· Sony are handling the redemption process (not an agency) As they want to prioritise SPEED to customer & not clog up the system with external parties. Customers will want their adapter quickly so we will check & validate DAILY.
Sony are offering the Metabones adapter for the following lens systems:
-Canon (electronic Full Frame adapter).
-Nikon (manual Full Frame adapter.. they don’t make electronic ones yet).
-Leica (manual Full Frame adapter.. they don’t make electronic ones yet).
-Sony (electronic Full Frame adapter) this is a Sony Adapter not a Metabones version. ...Show more →
Can you tell me where you have seen this offer please? I can not find any reference to it on the Sony web site and my wife is heading to Tokyo Japan in two weeks time and could get me the camera while there, but if this deal is happening then I will buy locally?

If it's the camera it looks to be, I'd have hit the order button by now if I was you
Pretty much solves the problem for landscape and architecture, probably solves it for fashion too, at least in some regards.

Video AF performance of A7(r) video samples look pretty decent. They have some delay but do track the subject well. Do a search "Sony A7" on Utube, they now available on line.

How telling that the longest thread recently is about a non Canon camera...
Probably because Canon hasn't done anything exciting since the 5D2 and 7D. All newer bodies are just a rebadge with more bells/whistles. Same old sensor with a different name tag.
