Quick post to give you my feedback on the flat black paint I had ordered from Micro tools:
I had ordered both a flat black correction pen and a small bottle of flat black paint. The paint from the bottle proved to not be very deep flat black, but the one from the pen really is flat flat black. I have "painted" over the plastic in the adapter, and I don't seem to be getting any reflections anymore. I have kept the flocked paper on the front and back, plus sides of the adapter, and have painted flat black the upper and lower sides of it. I will try replicating the shots where I was getting reflections and see if it solves the issue completely. I might even try painting the whole thing if the upper/lower sides proved to be 100% successful....Show more →

Just waded through the first and last 10 pages of this mega thread.
Very interested in buying the Alpha 7r and the Metabones adapter for my EF glass.
Has anyone noted flare issues on any glass other than the T/S lenses? Apologies if that's been noted before and I've missed it but I've "only" read 20 pages of this thread....

Not that I know of. As matter of fact, I just mounted my last Canon lens that I never tried before on the A7r/Metabones adapter, my 8-15mm Fisheye zoom lens and I didn't see any flare from that lens. I received my flocking paper quite sometime ago but I haven't had the chance to put it on the adapter yet. So far, only the TS-E lens has had flare issues that have been documented here. Maybe Fred and/or others can chime in later.

Ever heard of light leaks ?
Nope, never did . Only in long exposures, huh? So far, I have not seen any but I realize it doesn't mean that mine doesn't have any issues.
Fast forward 15 minutes of so - I just checked the exif of my images. The longest exposure time I have taken with it so far is 6 seconds and no issues there. I am crossing my fingers ..

Hi, I'm having the same long flares as people have been reporting on their 24 TS-E on my Zeiss FE 55 1.8. It happens just below a light source and it happen even with the lens hood on and doesn't happen on my canon.
I'm going to flock my Metabones, but is anyone else experiencing such flares on their FE lenses?

I'm guessing you have an A7, not A7r, right? This looks like the "sensor flare" issue described in the previous page.

No, I have a A7r. It's not the same flare as the multi-coloured spots as has been reported on the A7. It's like the long flare people have seen on 24mm TS-E and the A7R, but I'm getting it on the Zeiss FE 55mm 1.8. I haven't seen this reported anywhere. Which makes me think I got a lemon A7r.
I've never seen flare this bad in any camera I've owned.
But makes me suspicious that some A7r's are more prone to flare than others (though, not as bad as mine) and that is why some people are having more trouble than other with flock paper and metabones.
