My 645D arrived a few nights ago, while I'm waiting for my Arca plates I took the manditory "Self Portrait in a Bathroom Mirror" Shot.
First impressions, the camera is way better at ISO1600 than I was led to believe by the internet, my 105/2.4 seems unnaturally sharp at 2.4, all of my other lenses (35A, 45FA, 75FA, 150FA) seem to work just as well as my research told me (35A, 75FA excellent, 150 FA Good, 45FA needs to be stopped down).
55 SDM is first on my hit list, with the 25mm if I decided to go all in and sell my other landscape gear.
The Z might be where I end up, but the D suits my needs for now and lets me evaluate if the system is a good fit for me or not. Then I'll have to weigh out Z upgrade vs 25mm lens...

Congrats Ryan! I have seen 645D ISO 1600 images of highly detailed street scenes printed 16x20" and they looked fantastic. With the CCD being from Kodak/Truesense, I wonder how much familial similarity it has with those made for the M9 and S2, in respect to shooting at base ISO and pushing in post, etc.? The few S2 files I've worked on seemed to handle this type of PP even better than the M9...
So far it feels really familiar to the M9 files, but I definitely need to shoot and process a lot more to really get a feel. Haven't tried pushing anything yet, but all of my M9 presets in Lightroom seems to work well with no modifications.
Stefan, I will join this thread make you feel less lonely enjoy your cityscape images a lot. I wish I can travel as much 645Z certainly is a wonderful image maker.
Ryan, Look for ward to see your 645D image and what you think about it? care to share why you choose 645D over D810?

I just enjoy trying out different systems and I had a D800 a while back. I've run a Film P645 for the last 5 years or so and always loved it, so I had a good selection of legacy glass.
So far I've used Nikon (D40/D80/D300/D700/D800/D3s/D4), Panasonic/Olympus m43, Sony Nex, Sony A7, X100, Fuji XT-1, RX1, Ricoh GR, Leica M9/MM/M240, Toyo 45 Field Camera, Arca Swiss 4x5 monorail, GF670, GF670W, Mamiya 7, Xpan, 645N, and probably a few others. Variety is the spice of life
More, I did take image at the same location before with M9, now I realize the file difference. The highlight is insane good for post process compare to M9.
All handhold. 35 Summarit only 2min PP time max. original file detail is insane for handhold
Stefan, I like that from top down shot, very nice perspective.
A few more M type of shots. I like modern, traditional elements blend together with human. I was standing inside of San Jose Museum and looking out wait for the correct moment to trip the shutter, and setting the camera to maximize the DOF and hopefully capture the motion blur of human elements.
This is just showing Leica S can be used as traditional 35mm type of camera. A clever approach for designing this traditional studio/tripod use only territory format, a big selling point IMO if not considering hefty price.
If there is any reason choose it over D810, to me, first of all it is the lens rendering, color, and then huge viewfinder for manual focus at close up range portraits with beautiful CCD color. Of course AF can be very handy. No LV is a big limitation to prevent this compete with D810 in landscape use. not to mention WA lens selection.
S 35 Summarit ASPH is a great lens. (will cover 70 Summarit later ) Not only for detail cross frame (note: can be used WO for Landscape) but also for best rendering I even see from 28mm FF focal. Very low distortion, low vignette, and Bokeh highlight is always smooth and rounded without physical vignette clipping. I use it WO a lot for environment portrait, will post some samples later.
