I'm having problems downrezzing my 645Z files properly, always feel like I'm throwing details away. I once used a PS action developed by a few members here on FM to downsize pictures from Canon 5DII, but those settings don't work well anymore despite my attempts at modifying it to suit the much larger files from the 645Z. Do you guys have a special downsizing workflow?
I'm replying late to this as I was away from home and I also now seldom post to this great MFD thread.
Anyway, some years ago I spent a lot of time looking at sharpening discussion threads on FM and elsewhere.
I ended up modifying some great shell scripts (Unix operating system, as is the basis of Mac OSX for example) written by Samuli Verhonen (an FMer).
You will need to be running a Unix-based operating system to use the scripts.
I invoke my scripts from the Terminal on my iMac / MacBookPro. You need to install the 'ImageMagick' suite of graphics tools, of which the 'convert' command is used extensively to consecutively re-size the image.
A couple of images I processed earlier today, from March 2016, in the Scottish Highlands, between Invergarry and Dornie.
For both images I produced a fullsize 72dpi jpg and then used my 'jpeg-resize_l.sh' shell script
to produce a 1600 wide 95% quality file with specified sharpening parameters.

Wow! I just caught up on several months of images here -- my finger is sore from punching the "like" button!
So envious of your wonderful MF gears -- lovely renditions.
In particular, I love kiddik's work with that Pentax 645Z and the 35mm lens in Iceland. That's a hell of a backyard! Scary shots when a human is included to show the amazing grand scale of the glaciers, falls and mountains.
Too many to compliment here. Please keep up the inspiring work!
Thanks for the compliments Gunzorro And thank you for the info lenticular11! Unfortunately I'm a Windows user :-/
Here's one from two nights ago, massive aurora blast where I got to see rare colors of blue, cyan and magenta on top of the usual greens. I have lots more photos but only this one processed for now:
