I wanted to experiment with relatively long shutter speeds, is it really possible to trust the IBIS and shoot handheld without tripod. All my concerns were blown away. 1-second exposures with 75P were still perfectly usable despite the weird posture I was shooting crouching on wet rocks 5-second exposures with 28P were half-and-half blurry or still OK.
This is completely new way of shooting for me. I need to experiment more but I have this idea in my head to use the motion blur from wind to create interesting details while at the same time I can get crisp sharp things there too.
The Pentax Super Multi-Coated Takumar 67 105mm f/2.4 lens has got me wondering what it would look like on the 67 or 6x7 mirror up body? Anybody know if the magnifying eyepiece for the 645 has the same thread as the 67, or 6x7? Few more portraits on the 645Z. The lens reminds me of the Nikkor 85mm f1.4 ais or afd. Not sure if I will ever find the equivalent to the Nikkor-S 5.8cm f1.4 Nippon Kogaku non-AI for medium format. The search continues
Made another enlarging lens cobble up. Adapted the Novoflex-Noflexar 135mm f4.5 R, and it works much the same as the Novoflex-Noflexar 105mm f3.5 R, Amitar Anastigmat 135mm f4.5, Vivitar Anastigmat 150mm f4.5, and I'm working on some Wollensaks as well. They all seem to have very flat field, and more iris blades than I can count. These are all the 645Z with the Novoflex-Noflexar 135mm f4.5 R.
I recently bought a set of NiSi Jetmag filters (came upon with a good pricing) and for my surprise, I find it extremely hard to use circular polarizer on X2D II. I have used different CPLs on my other systems, especially with Canon 5D's, and I can clearly see their 'effect' through viewfinder.
With X2D, while looking at the back display or the viewfinder, I really can't say in which orientation the filter is. I started to doubt is there different grades or densities of CPLs and I just happen to have the very very mild one, and as a test, I ended up taking a few pictures from the same spot while incrementally rotating the filter between shots. I could confirm after the shot that the filter really did remove the reflections or darken the sky, but I couldn't tell it during the shot.
Is it because of the HDR-capable display and EVF? Does it somehow even out the polarizer gradient of the sky, for example? Or is it the "exposure simulation" before actually taking the shot? Mirrorless cameras aren't "WYSIWYG” after all?
