I have one of the A 120/4 and indeed it has an aperture ring, in LN from KEH, manuals, box, wrapper, everything. I never used it, having moved on at that point in time (I'll have to sell it locally as no one in the US buys from here.)
I'm a Hasselblad XCD user and I'm considering the 120mm HC macro with the H to X adapter. Have any of you used this combination. The price for going this route is relatively inexpensive.
I've not seen a lot of information about the Hasselblad 120mm HC macro, but their lenses are often among the best...
I can live without AF, as I'd be manually focusing a lens like this anyway.

I brought my X1D along with my 400mm f2.8TC to a bird colony where I've been photographing pigeon guillemots. The shooting position requires a bit of climb down basaltic boulders. With the 400 f2.8 and Z9 in one hand and the X1D on my back, I nestled in for the action. At the end of the shoot, I decided to use the Hasselblad to document the cliff face where the birds are building cavity nests... if you look carefully, you will see some black and white birds with red feet nestled in among the red sandstone cliff.
I chose the XPan Crop to emphasize the cliff relative to the sky and ocean.

Sounds like a beautiful and peaceful climbing adventure, Bruce, I like the horizon and cliff composition in XPan crop. I can almost hear the pigeon guillemots with your description.
