Wonderful set, Tim, and that first one makes me realize how much I miss Seattle! (crisp morning, sun just coming up, kayak). But my favorite is the last image. It's a really beautiful composition, almost zen-like with the interplay of lines and colors. I would be interested to see what it would look like with a bit more canvas at the top. And, I think you may need to start putting extension tubes on that 500 to see if you can get closer to the hummers!
Greg
Ah yes Greg 1 was from the yak, nice cool morning with the sun rising clear over the lake, nothing beats it! So glad you like the last, I really enjoyed the effect of shooting these guys in those conditions. There is room over the head, I would say its a toss up but I DO appreciate the thought. I may get around to tubing the hummers later in the season when they are a bit more accustomed to me

A lovely little collection Tim. PBG pics are always magnets for my affection. Good looking hummer (guessing not from the kayak unless you're using it for a blind). The heron is a beauty.
Thanks a lot Ken!! You are correct no yak for the hummer, just me, the flowers and the little buggers
Beautiful work, Tim.
Lovely light in the first shot.
Fine detail in the GH shots. The water droplets in the second one add to the capture.
The calm water in the last one add a nice feel to the image.

Thanks for sharing Tim. I don't get the chance to see grebes very often and enjoy viewing yours. I would bet "Dave in LA" would enjoy the greenies. A great hummer shot. I am digging the GBH shot. I call them the gentle giants of the birding world.
Bruce
Ah yes indeed Bruce, our ole buddy Dave would indeed like the Greenies, what a great guy he was Thanks for the nice thoughts and kind words, a wonderful comment.
GBH nail slide is my fav. plus the bit-o-water ripple just does it for this image and the faint detail of the BG gives a tab bit-o-depth to it as well.
Brian
Thanks for the nice comment Brian, I was grinning when I saw that I did capture the slide

Great stuff Tim, I have been out lately, but seems to be a time of the birds feathers not in good shape molting, and generally a slow time. Nice to see you are getting some good stuff. Am thinking of heading over to Marymoore this afternoon, so will see how it goes. Bruce

More wonderful shots, but really like the GBH nail polishing, certainly a different look at a hummer, always nice to see something a little out of the ordinary.
Thanks Scott, I try to find something to photograph
