That is just terrible news. The Happy Shooting tagline always gave me a fuzzy, warm feeling... you rarely perceive that kind of kindness from random strangers on the Internet.

This tragic event has effected me greatly over the past day, and until now I have been unable to find words to add to those of all of the others here who clearly are equally effected. This outpouring of shock and concern, the recollections of the communications he had with so many people, and his uncountable positive contributions to people he met only electronically but not in person, are overwhelming. I would hope that there is some way to convey to Yakim's family the fact that he has touched the lives of so many people, in such a positive way, and thus has left an important imprint on this earth. What I wish I had said to you, Yakim, is simply: Thank You. Because of all that you have done, so many of us have been and surely will continue to enjoy, "Happy Shooting."

We were friends. He was a very kind fine man. Great loss. If you look further down that thread, you'll see some PICs of him somewhere around the 2006's in my house (trying a lens ...).

I am however encouraged and amazed at the responses from the FM family in all these threads. This is truely a family made up of a great bunch of caring cyber friends! Since you knew Yakim and his family, I'm wondering if you have thought about copying all the condolences and comments and sharing them with Yakim's family (when they're ready). I'm sure it would be a huge comfort for them to read them and see how the FM family has reacted to their (and our) loss.

I am so sad. My last personal interaction with Yakim was on the Canon board, and was perhaps two years ago. In spite of this period that I haven't "heard" him through his posts, it is a shock. It is hard to imagine what may have been going through the mind of a man to end this way. Yakim was a fine person, a valuable contributor here, and beyond anything else I wish peace, love, acceptance, and some degree of understanding for all the members of his family.
