Anyone who doesn't like the Sigma or thinks its not a good lens after the numerous threads and phenomenal amount of sensational pictures posted on FM is either dillusional, or intentionally flaming the lens for some unknown personal reason.
As I look through the pictures and see not only the incredible sharpness but the wonderful rendering of subject and oof areas, colour tones, contrast etc, and then when I consider the lens' build quality, physical appearance and very low price tag (in comparison to its OEM namesakes) I can't help but come to the conclusion that it is one of the best lenses in the world.
Yes, some people have had bad experiences with poor AF performance or copies requiring massive MA adjustments, but show me one piece of photographic equipment from any manufacturer that doesn't have small numbers or small batches that have problems. That's life when dealing with such precision made pieces of technology.
I'm sorry but I do not understand Wiseguys issue, but each to their own I suppose. What is frustrating though is that someone can base their opinions of an image on the lens that was used to capture it. Again, this is something I do not understand.

Fantastic images Lars...as always!!! The little girl shot on the previous page is really nice. A very subtle image that speaks volumnes!!
John, your b&w Ferrari image is very nice! I love the SE conversion.
My 1D4 is at Canon getting a CLA, so for the moment, I've rented an RX1 from Roger, and so far, as almost every poster on that thread says, I'm blown away by it. But I digress...looking forward to getting the Canon back...

Whoa, that double-edged boke on many edges in the background is very strange. Does that happen a lot? I have seen something similar from the Contax 35/1.4, but not to this extent, just a subtle thing.

Great shot Lars! I think I still like the first one! Great detail! Is it possible to apply the pp to just the subject, while leaving the background the same??

Thanks Gregg, In PS I don't think it would be a problem. In LR where I did it I'm not sure. I also did it very quickly

This thread really makes me want to get a fullframe nikon and a sigma 35/1.4 and 85/1.4 - Especially the statue above, amazing depth/sharpness/everything/color.
