Thank you to everyone for all the nice complements on my Iris Photo.
I look forward for that flower to bloom every year...
Peter,
Even with ISO 50, after stacking multiple images together I have found it best to put it through my Denoise program using default of Raw-Moderate. then dup the layer in photoshop, high pass sharpen using the blend mode-linear light? then dropping fill down to 30 percent? Maybe should I have used softlight, not as harsh? or not sharpened at all?
I am not using anything fancy to stack, CS6 works fine for me. And I shot at 2.2 f stop after looking back!
Just trying to learn. I really try hard to get what I see in camera.
Thank you in advance for you help! Love all your shots. I have sent this link out to girlfriends who follow these hawks..

I had the pleasure of acquiring a new toy from a fellow member on Friday last week. I didn't have that much time to play with it, but so far, I'd say it's acceptably sharp

Nice, Bob. the lens should also work well with 2xTC MkIII.
In fact, when I got 300 f/2.8 IS MkII, I thought I'd see an improvement in 2xTC III combo IQ, compared to the MkI lens based combo. However, there was no decisive IQ improvement that I could see, although the AF response of the new combo was noticeably faster.

Now spring is really here - warm and sunny. I spent 25 minutes stalking flowers in the neighborhood, and came home with enough shots to spend more than that time (quickly) editing them. Here's a selection, all done with the 70-200/2.8 IS II.
