So is this going to be the official spring thread?
To me this thread looks as "official" as it can be. Thank you for the initiative, Edd.
In southern Ontario we are going thru an interesting environmental spring transient now.Thank goodness, the white $hit is gone from the backgrounds in our images, and it has been replaced by earthy colours and slowly budding greens. Our winter avian visitors such as Longtail ducks will shortly disperse, fly north of here and start to multiply. However, while the males are still around in their winter plumage, they present a nice target.

Your most welcome Peter, I'll run with the torch at light-speed for this thread...got to love fiber-optics.... We have sit-down dinner here at my home today for about 30 "crew-members", so this will be it for today. The Easter Cactus has buds all around, but this one came off the blocks early. Taken with the 5D MkII and 100L Macro.

Edd, that is a beautiful flower.
In two to three weeks I hope the terns will be back, and they are always lottsa fun to shoot in flight.
Until then even these heavyweight flyers have to do.

Super stuff, everyone. Here in NC, we didn't really get a winter, yet spring is a little slow in coming. The hellebores that surprised me in the frosty weeks are still trying to put on a show. I spent a few minutes trying to come up with different viewpoints this noon. All with the 100 L macro, all struggling with natural light.
Helleborus orientalis
another "Lenten rose", a deeper than average color
