15Bit - wow, something about this one really struck me. Maybe because I have a son who is about the same age. Great shot - I keep coming back to it...
Thanks Strat. I think it might well be my best shot of last year, made better for me by the fact i actually put some level of planning into it and didn't catch it completely by accident like so many of my other images....

15Bit, your B&W's are great. I hope to see new ones soon; I'm sure she's grown a lot...
Thanks Jerry. Those B&W's are from May last year, and the shot a few pages back with her on the table is from only 3 weeks or so ago. So they are fairly representative. She is growing though, and now nearing the end of year 1 at school. I feel old....
Ernie - great blossom in #1 and butterfly in #4.
Too many superb flower (especially Iris) shots to compliment them all. To me that's summer, not spring - we won't be seeing that sort of colour for another 2 months.

I went on a walk a day or two ago while there was a brief break to all of the rain we have been getting in Wisconsin. Apparently no one told these fall leaves that it is spring time now; they must be protesting.

Cloudy/overcast skieslike we are having today do not make good long range shots. However, I went to the lake just out of habit.

Ok. I figured it out. I accidentally pushed the hide button on photon. I added him to my buddy list, I can't see any of his photos that he posted-(
Terry.
That's okay, I've been hiding anyway. Actually, working like crazy.
It just occurred to me that in a couple of weeks I'll be performing Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, which could be an appropriate subject for this thread. Unfortunately, I still haven't worked out how to do two entirely different things at once, let alone be in two places at once. By the way, it's the centennial of the first performance of this transformative musical masterpiece.

A broader view of an iris, because when I came upon it the stalks seemed to be pointing to the petals and the sunlight was emphasizing it. I grabbed the 5DII over the III because it already had the 70-200/4 IS mounted. I did a little vignetting in Lightroom to magnify the effect.

Rob, I remember seeing a shot from almost the same vantage in the landscape forum, but either wider view or further from the building. That was great and this is great!

Cheers Photon!
Yeah that was a 17mm stitch ( 4 shots could really have been 2) from the lakeshore, this is closer at 24mm!
