I have been off the grid, so to speak, for the past few months planning and having our wedding ceremony and then going to Italy for the honeymoon. All I took with me was the X100s and I wasn't disappointed. It was a breeze to carry around as we walked around the cities. I have a ton of pictures to go through, but here are a few from before and after the wedding.
There are some fabulous images on this thread. I am now enjoying my X100S and it's results. I particularly like the fixed 35mm focal length in preference to a zoom. I am using P.N and enjoy what it extracts from X TRANS raw files. Furthermore , I like the PN "scenic" colour profile.
The IQ of the X100 / S is excellent although the lens tend to produce a little softness towards borders , but this only seems visible at 75% to 100% pixel peeping.
I guess that its hard to produce a 35mm lens that is pin sharp all the way into the corners !!
Does anybody know of any cameras that come with a 35mm lens which produce pin sharp images across the whole frame or will there always be a degree of subtle softness towards the edge of the frame ? Field curvature etc etc - I'm just curious.
I know that many like the Leica X2 , Sony RX1 or A7 - But hey , we're talking lots of money and I'm not that perfection is achievable. I'm not sure that these are any better than the X100S in the IQ stakes.
