that eclipse shot above reminded me:
D7000, Opteka(or some other no-name) 500/8.
I got the Annular Eclipse at full annularity(?) as it was setting, in SUNDOWN, Texas. Was a 4 hour drive for me, and worth every second of it.
As my wife and i were sitting out there on the edge of a cow pasture, listening to the birds singing, watching possibly the most amazing natural event I've ever seen, and capturing these photos with my camera.... it was just amazing. One of the more surreal moments of my life.

Here are some photos shot in 1998 with the Leica f5.6 800mm Modular Apo Telyt lens that Leica USA loaned to me for a month in February of 1998. Images shot with Leica R7.
