I just got a think tank glass taxi backpack for a 200mm setup. Wow. It's nice. I have the hood and a d3s mounted together and it fits perfectly into the backpack. When I need to access my camera, I just zip open the bag, remove one piece of Velcro that is holding the lens to the bac, then I'm ready to shoot.
I hereby resolve that if I'm on Fred's and this thread is headed to the 2nd page or it's been days and days since anyone's posted to it, I'll post whatever's I got to keep it up there, because this glass deserves it.
There shouldn't even BE a part 2, since it took what, a month?!!! of no posting to archive the first thread, but thanks to cat for keeping the faith and starting part 2
And if you got Chubby in your bag and you're just not using him, do the world a favor and throw him on the buy 'n sell so some of the folks lusting after this silly good kit can see what it's all about - instantaneous focus, bokeh to die for, pixel perfection, etc...
Not even proud of this shot, (just a point 'n shoot this AM with old Chub) but BUMP

Yeah, this thread has slowed down... I'll blame it on mirrorless
If I didn't get hooked on MF Nikon glass lately, this lens would still be my primary choice.
The thing with this lens is that 1. It's pretty heavy that it mostly sees limited use; 2. Composing with a heavy telephoto seems more difficult, and 3. People always expect great shots from a 200 f/2.
Although Nikkors piss excellence in general of course haha, there's really no other lens that makes me say OMG every time I mount it - def gets my vote for finest glass ever
Well I am having a bit of difficulty getting a picture to show up. I hope to figure it out soon. But long story short I went to H*me Dep*t and got a pipe connector which I cut down.
I can't believe the lens! Sooo fast to focus! And the images.....WOW
