Express gives complete control over adjustments. Check it again. The Pro version allows a few more pro features that you may or may not need. Express does everything and way more than I need.

I forgot to add that it appears that the RX1 has very good dynamic range capabilities.
Could that be the secret to it's photographic capabilities?
RX1 is such a niche product that pretty much just people that can take a good photo own it.
I think that is the real secret.
😀☺️

Hi guys,
excellent photography in this thread, i have the r2 version and really like the camera but somehow i feel like my pictures lack sharpness and 3d look, i shoot raw and proceed with Sony's software.
Are there any recommendations?
Hi, Uzay,
Can you be more specific about the picture lack sharpness and 3D? have you tested the camera at conditions that you see the problem by remove certain variable such as LV focus, shoot at high shutter speed or tripod etc? Is it AF problem or if you see not sharp, corner or even center? 3D look will be hard to verify as that start from subjective term, not even the same meaning for everyone. If you can limit your variables, under controlled condition, you will understand the problem better.
Most people here include myself use Lightroom, so I guess if you like the pictures here, you should be fine with the software.

For all its many virtues, the Sonnar asks more of the composition to deliver the 3D look in deep DOF images (say f5.6-f11). It's far from the worst offender among the new breed, but it's far behind (among others) the ZEF Distagon 35/2 or the CY 35-70 at 35mm. You therefore see a lot of near-far, low light, planar or wide aperture bokeh images from it. Could be the five asph surfaces behind this phenomenon. Few lenses combine superb fast aperture performance/rapid focus fade with broad DOF excellence.

So far I've been happy with the RX1R-II, especially for candid shots like these.
It's just that little bit smaller and lighter than the A7RIII+35/2.8 Sony and it's got great IQ wide open at close up and medium distances.
