RX1 - the monastery's front door view of East Karakoram Range, 10 kms down from Siachen Glacier (war zone). Those initial peaks you see are the first of a series of saw tooth ridges characteristic of the EKR. They are around halfway up to the highest peaks which lie about 4-5 kms to the east (further away on axis). This was shot from around 3150m and the highest mountains in this range ridge average 7500m. My guess is those faces, which are 4-8 kms away left to right, are around 2200m high, straight up. That's the allure of this range above all others (most of it is in Pakistan): very low valleys and very steep mountain faces. [The highest continuous face is Nanga Parbat's Rupal Face - a prominence of 4600m.]

I probably should not sale my RX1 and use it as pocketable full frame camera when I think my A7RIII/24-70GM is too big to carry out of house. The fixed Zeiss f2.0 lenses of these cameras are amazing.

Currently have it as my one and only camera for my trip this week at Disney World. Lots to like about it, also lots to have issues with. But overall for a traveling camera with two small kids, it’s been holding its own. Maybe next time when the kids grow up or I can hire a sherpa, my kit will be different.

Philip, I have been really enjoyed your images from Tibet through multiple thread, are you long term living there or just visit there regularly?
