When I bought the Sony Rx1 when it was 1st released, and I had my 1st look at the files, I immediately got rid of everything Canon I owned....
The RX1 is a cult classic.
It always gives me 'wow' files........ In some ways I like it better then my RX1R II, but I am glad to own them both.... Now Sony, stick your medium format sensor in the RX1R III, and you'll really rock the HepKitty!

I took the Sony Rx1rii to photograph Episode 61g lava (from Kilauea Volcano) entering the ocean.
This location at Kamokuna near Kalapana on the Big Island of Hawaii.
An awesome experience to see lava pouring into the sea.
There are only four tour boats permitted and I was on one.
Conditions were hot and steamy.
Settings at f/2 1/320sec iso1600.
My goal was to not blow out the lava.
I had to boost darker areas about 3 or 4 stops for balance.
Aloha.

Great shot Joe! Hiked 7 miles in from Kalpana at night to see the lava flows a few years ago. Love shooting lava at night!
Thanks for sharing!
Hiking 7 miles over recent lava flows can be brutal - day or night.
At Kalapana lots of bike rentals available as of today.
Might be worth it to save time and energy.

Ronny, Sebboh, Werner, Lucinda and others - your photos totally rock.
Here's a photo of my good friend Dan celebrating his 78th birthday.
Took him on this lava boat tour to see the "lavafall" entering the ocean.
Pre-sunrise on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Check out the people standing on the cliff edge - very dangerous.
