Spending some time this winter at the Carolina Shore - our daughter lives down here and beach rentals in the off-season are dirt cheap. The RX1R2 is blowing my mind again, with the overwhelming latitude in the files, as the original RX1 did. I no doubt overdid these - in time I'll get used to the files and get back to a more natural look. But for now, I couldn't resist...

Some really exquisite work. I have to work on my patience, as I have been an RX1 owner for nearly 4 months, but haven't been an RX1 user yet. Two knee replacements over fall and now winter, its hard to get a shot in that doesn't include my foot. Cannot wait for spring and being able to go out and about with the RX1. This thread sure helps inspire, but also arpuses some jealousy. Love the work here.

Today was sort of the embodiment of why I've always wanted a single small camera like this that I could carry on a day in the city and have it meet so many needs so well. I've gotten by with the Nikon Coolpix A in this role, and it handles it really well. But the RX1RM2 is just a few cuts above in any number of ways. Today my wife and I walked around Wilmington, North Carolina (where my daughter lives) and I had the RX1 with me. Shooting wasn't the order of the day, but I did some anyway - a mixture of scenics, architecture, and street shots. And the camera handled everything really well, as I knew it would. (You can click through and see larger versions on Flickr if you want to, but I've been having problems with larger ones displaying well on the laptop I'm using while traveling...)

I'm not even remotely a macro / flower photographer, but I spotted this scene as I was leaving the kitchen after eating dinner tonight and accidentally left the light over the table on when I turned off the the rest of the kitchen lights. For the obvious reason, I couldn't resist photographing it regardless:
