Sometimes you get lucky, eh? I was walking away from this scene without having photographed it when the sun suddenly poked through the clouds behind me and a golden glow appeared in the windows:

^^
Me too. I've bought and sold it several times, tried moving to various other systems for travel but headed back again... this time to the rx1rii. Between the size, sensor and simply the best 35mm lens I've ever used, this one is destined to be a classic.

Just re-acquired an rx1. Haven't shot with it much, and can't say I love the experience, but the photos!!
I hated it at first. Now Jeff Kott taught me the AF:
"If I'm going to be shooting people, focus area is set to wide with Face Detect on with continuous AF. Done.
AEL button is set to Eye AF and when I'm at portrait distance I use Eye AF. If it can't lock on an eye, it defaults to Face Detect.
For shots without people, I use AF-S, flexible spot medium for all distances short of infinity. For infinity, I switch to Manual Focus and use focus magnification to nail infinity focus.
That's it." The Kott method
This is so simple and effective, and now I have no problem--I actually like it!!! Plus I learned how to zone with macro ring, works on restart! TY to.....I have to dig that up
For social situations it a real weapon, for many reasons. Besides the obvious performance, people don't take it seriously. They think it's a simple digital compact. I mean, people love my M9, but they are really looking at it, this thing is invisible Shutter is a dream. Of course it could nicer, but if you adapt, it's fine, I think. The r2 sensor is way better than I thought, and now I want a Kolari r2, but I need to make some money for that
