Well, I finally got my replacement RX1r II from Amazon on Saturday in exchange for the “old” one with the infamous light leak. No nurse coverage until today, so I couldn’t get in the field with it. This is the very first shot with the new camera – of Chase on one of my many trails on the mountain on Saturday. I hadn’t gotten the camera set up as yet.
Sunday was relatively warm (about 40F) and most of the snow was (temporarily) gone, so I got my little two-seater out of the barn for the first time in a couple months. Normally, I drive a battered old Jeep that no one would steal, but I keep this car perfect. She looks stock, but is heavily modded and goes like stink on the winding, empty back roads around here. She’ll probably sit in the barn now for another couple of months, because the summer gumball tires are truly terrible in cold weather – dangerous actually. She is shown on part of my long lane, by a 19th century spring house built into the side of the mountain that still supplies clean, clear water to the house.
We headed to the field this morning as it wasn’t supposed to rain until afternoon, but we were only out for about an hour before rain, snow, hail and sleet all came down sideways. The dogs did well in that brief time and produced one bird. Chase point; Joy honor:
Chase retrieving the bird he had been pointing
Little 28 gauge sidelock with our bird in the freezing downpour:
The new camera got wet, too. Just like the “fine” guns, I figure good cameras are intended to use, not to sit at home. As usual, I dried it off, cleaned it up and it was fine. It would be nice if these little gems were weather proofed, but I guess you can’t have everything.
So, we are back in the RX1r II business again. Hopefully, more later….

I hope it's not against the rules to post this here:
During the past years I've been enjoying the user groups of various cameras - mostly Leica - on Facebook very much. So since I am now the proud owner of a Sony RX1RM2, I thought it might be a good idea to start a group named Sony RX1R II User Group. I'd like to invite everyone who's on Facebook regularly to become a member and participate in the sharing of nice images and friendly discussion of all things related to the Sony RX1 series.

This is just a test to see if I can display images from Flickr here.
OK. That worked - sort of... I needed to edit the Flickr url info substantially to get rid of unnecessary stuff. Is there anyway to avoid that and get a direct code from Flickr to imbed?

in flickr i click on the arrow near the desired picture, then i choose bbcode and the desired resolution, copy the code, paste it here in the quick reply box und delete the code after the the first "[/url]"
only way i know, but i guess its the same way you did it.

Danke schoen! It sounds like one must edit the Flickr url, regardless. I've bene using Photobucket, but it does not allow larger size (1600px) images to be posted - so am giving Flickr a try.
