Really enjoying the images from everyone.
Did a family shoot yesterday and they wanted some shots of the two wrestling sons.
Had the Nikon D810 and 85/1.4g around my shoulder and the Sony Rx1rM2 around my neck.
What a great one two punch as I switched back and forth as needed.
With the Sony I relied on face detection and it nailed focus perfectly.
And the tiltable screen allowed me to get some low angle shots.
Here's one at f2 of one of the sons in his wrestling outfit and pose.

Great shot Joe... yes the tiltable screen is really nice.. miss it on Rxr1
And the AF seems to be much better on the new Rx1R II
On the old one it miss a bit too often, I think .. but when it hits, it's usually very good

A 35mm lens is always iffy for headshots.
Nevertheless, worth a try with this little Sony RX1rM2.
This one at f2 iso1600, cropped and incredibly sharp.
No makeup so obvious post for a high contrasty look.

Ok, had another crack at shooting ballet rehearsals with the Sony RX1RM2 (or whatever it is called). No performance stage lighting at the theatre so lighting was typical of rehearsal - quite poor. Used AF-C Wide and the camera did focus significantly better than in the studio where I had lots of backlighting. All images at f2 and except for the pointe shoes all at iso 4000. No noise reduction but did process with Silver Efex Pro for dramatic effect. Again, these are just rehearsal - not dress or performance shots. Kind of missed the last shot, but oh well.

fantastic shots! focus looks good on the last one to me (at least on the web) and i like the motion blur.
btw, can we all just agree to call the new camera the rx2 or at least rx1II to minimize letter jumbles?

another autumn motif:
Thank you sebboh and lovely images you are posting.
This is perhaps my favorite thread with contributions by many talented photographers.
Agree focus is good on my last ballet shot, I just missed the trailing foot as the ballerina performed her jete right in front of me. My bad.
So much better and easier if Sony simply called this version RX2. Sony bad.
I may try to use the Sony during dress rehearsal tonight. Should be interesting.
Here's one at f2 iso1600 in a studio. Really enjoying the tiltable LCD.
