Philip, thanks very much. I know I missed it because on my way to there, I saw a glory RED sky on my right Anyway, it is not my main target for the trip, a cherry on the top thing, I am happy as I am still able to catch the last light.
Here is one more after above, maybe 5 min later, you can see how dark it is. two image HDR, WO at 4s&16s

These are lovely photos from Yosemite, one of the most beautiful spots on Earth. Thanks for posting.
I'm curious, since you are on the road, are you doing any post processing on these images, or are they straight out of camera? Normally I wouldn't ask, but I've seen some jaw dropping images from the RX1 that were straight out of camera, either a jpeg or a converted RAW with no extra processing.

Sorry my description cause confusion. I went to June lake, Sierra area two weeks ago for capture some Fall color. The above two shots are pretty much only two I got from Yosemite. Going through Yosemite is shortest way to go there.
These images all processed from Raw through LR. Though, Sonnar have nice Bokeh generally, I do feel RX1 have very strong contrast and micro_contrast make the images POP. It also has been discuss several times that I feel it can shoot Landscape at WO. I never shoot JPG though, depend on image, process can be very basic from batch process for family portraits or some require a little more like lanscape depend on images.
It is a great camera for what it does but I can't answer if it has nicer JPG engine or not Hope it helps.

I have the possibility of buying locally a used RX1R and have a few questions. Hope it is fine to make them here?
1. Does the leaf shutter have a long life? The camera has almost 10k shots on it.
2. The seller mentions that it is a Japanese version and that the menus cannot be changed to any other language than Japanese. Does this make sense? He mentions that Sony cameras sold in Japan only have English menus if sold at the International Store? Would a FW update fix this?

Thank you very much and great photos here btw!
Regarding the Japanese version, there are two versions sold in Japan. A standard Japanese version and an International Version which has Japanese and English. The Japanese version is often times noticeably cheaper than the International Version, in the case of the RX1 probably $200-300 cheaper. The Japanese version is locked to Japanese and cannot be flashed to have English menus. To be honest unless the deal is superb, I would look for a low mileage US version. I see RX1's selling in the $1,100-1,300 range, which I would pay for. I would only buy a Japanese version if it was say, $700 or so.

700 usd for a RX1R seems like an impossible deal, anywhere in the world.
1.100 usd for a RX1R also seems too good. Cant see any on eBay for that price at the moment.
