Hmm.. I wonder if it would be more interesting in black and white. Right now the color is dull and adds nothing to the image.
Thanks for the response. Agree about the color. I had to shoot these well before sunrise to 1) keep cars from lining the parking spaces on the street, and 2) keep people from filling the walkway: dull light = dull color. I found the art interesting and thought others might too...but since I couldn't find a way to bring art & light together, I shouldn't have posted these. The links above present nearby art photographed in better light.

Was walking back up the steps and this guy was blocking my path. I had just walked down the steps a few minutes earlier carrying a big tub of recycling (and wearing sandals no less) so I couldn't really see where I was going; I think I probably stepped right over him without realizing it. Not positive but I'm pretty sure this is a venomous Copperhead ?
Ran back upstairs, put on some boots, and grabbed the RX1 (since it had a handy pop-up flash) so I could get a pic

Hey millsart whatever happened to the snake after? It does look like a copperhead to me but I'm not familiar with wildlife found where you're at. Just curious as to what people do with snakes where they're found more commonly among people in urbanised/urbanising areas. Here in singapore because snakes are quite a rarity (not entirely uncommon but just novel to see one, at least for me because I like animals), some pest controllers or authorities are usually called to remove them and put them in the zoo or released into more forested and less populated areas.
Some images I took there can be seen here although they are mixed in with other images from the trip. Some were taken with RX1R and others taken with CV12 which you are welcome to peruse
