Just curious, how many of you have the EVF? and do you use it often? I'm still debating whether or not to pull trigger. I can get one just under $300
i use it all the time unless i don't have the space, makes it much more useable.

EVF works well and the tilt feature is cool, but I hardly ever use mine. Simply ruins the compact size of the camera for me. Makes it way harder to stick in a bag, or pocket, or even just wear on a strap around my shoulder. Just sticks out like a sore thumb.
Of course you can take it off, but then you run the issue that there is no retention latch, it just slides on/off. So unless you use some tape, rubber bands, business cards etc to make it more secure, you run the risk of losing it and as I'm sure you know, its not cheap. Was a huge oversight not making it latching IMO

Thanks! Good perspective. I just upgraded from the A7 to the A7II and was thinking the same thing. I have the RX1 as my "daily shooter" then my A7II for the more serious stuff. I was worried the EVF would negate the compactness of the RX1 and was thinking like you, I can always "fall back" to the A7II if I need the EVF.
The sub $300 price point just tempted me. I think I'll just save the $300 towards the 85 Batis
As for the EVF, I never went out without it. I just wasn't used to shooting the RX1 as a compact without some form of viewfinder. It was still a small camera anyway and to me it wasn't pocketable regardless. I suppose you've made up your mind, but to me, it was nice to have that option to add an evf on. Especially for streets where the ability to shoot the evf as an angle finder is handy.
