In an earlier thread I mentioned that I had gotten a really good deal on an RX1 from cowboom.com. They currently have the RX1R listed for $2,098.99. That's a $700 discount. If they did it at $1400 I'd be all over it. These deals come and go at that website so you may have to check regularly. This is the first time I've seen it discounted.

I'm a fan of the RX1, and was just reading reviews of th Nikon Coolpix A, when i stumbled across Ken Rockwell's review of the Coolpix A, and was surprised at how Ken didn't bash it. But, I wasn't let down, as near the bottom of review he compares it to the RX1 and says:
"Versus the Sony RX1
The Sony RX1 is a toy. It's flawed because its Auto ISO and Program exposure modes are incorrectly programmed so that its f/2 lens usually shoots at f/4, never using the full potential of its lens in dim light, and I find the RX1's color rendition poor. I couldn't figure out its controls either.
The RX-1 is a camera best ignored if you're serious about great photographs. The RX-1 is for people in the small-penis club who can't afford LEICA."
Not that I want to give Ken more traffic, but WOW....I couldn't believe what I read. I mean, I know he's opinionated and says some weird things, but now after reading this, it makes me think, what a nutbar!

Same old same old. He says stuff to create a stir and generate traffic to his sites. I'd guess that 50% of what he posts is copied from other sources. He's even copied and pasted mis-spellings on some reviews.

Just playing around today, and marveled at how clean this camera produces files. The image below was shot in RAW, and exported to JPEG with zero processing, no sharpening, or noise reduction or anything for that matter.
