Gary, I too have been using mostly AF as it has been good enough even in low light but the AF is not as quick as DSLR AF so I it is hard focusing on moving animals like goats and dogs.

Following that logic, the RX1 body will be outdated soon enough. Would it be a better scenario to have a mediocre quality body, oudated electronics, and a good lens that can't be used on a newer body?

It's the output in combination with the price...... bodys are gone in no time these days and what is left is a fantastic piece of craftsmenship with outdated electronics in it.
That could become a problem.

I created this thread as an "image" thread to keep it limited to mostly images and any IQ talk about those images and NOT another thread for those who do not like this camera to talk about why they are not getting this camera. Pls do that in the other RX1 threads. I do not care who likes this camera or not or all the reasons why not. This camera is not for everyone. Let this be a positive thread where those who enjoy this camera post their work. Thanks!

I'm curious about it too joanlvh wrote:
thanks Wayne, I really like seeing the pictures, love your goat, could you please tell me what i am looking at in the second picture?

Thanks Jim and Joan!
Joan, the second one is a reflection of trees and sky in a puddle abstract. Although it is not a perfect reflection with objects in the puddle also showing I kind of liked it anyway.

+1 I just got my RX1 and was contemplating to post here, cause of all the haters, move on haters and I agree keep this thread for the photo's only!

Just because some of us have posted thoughts about the RX1, doesn't make us haters, or even that we don't like the camera. My post was purely a logical response to "sculptormic" comments on the Leica bodies. His post, and some of the other ones from RX1 owners have as little to do with images.
Am I to be restricted from saying I haven't seen much of that special look from thre Zeiss lens on ther RX1 If this is an image thread than people can comment on the images as they see fit. Take a pill guys

What is all this talk about haters? As if there is anyone here who fits that description. We are just people with different opinions. Please stop polarising things so much, there is a full greyscale here.

It seems that since this thread is called the "RX1 IMAGE Thread" that it might cool things off if more images were posted for others to look at and comment on.And use the other thread for more talk about the camera itself https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1147292.
I think we all mean well.

I just got the RX1 two days ago and have been loving it, apart from battery life.
I took some shots in the car through a snowstorm yesterday, which look great in their HC b&w, at 25600.
Even though i know this is really extreme (moving car, 256000 iso!), i notice there are some horizontal lines on these shots. This is with NR turned off, haven't tried it with NR turned off yet.
I don't mind as i won't be pushing the camera this often, but im wondering if this might have any incidence on the lower iso's as well, but that is so faint we dont see it?
