I never said right or wrong! I just stated my opinion and put (imo) in there. I am just expressing my opinions on photography and what I like, just like how you endlessly state all your opinions in all the camera gear threads on all the haptics of each camera.
Everyone in this thread already knows what you like, or more appropriately, don't like though. We already went through that "debate" between you two before, and all your comment came off as was a jab.
There is also a difference between stating an opinion on something like the haptics of a camera, which is totally non-personal or offensive to anyone, and stating an opinion on someone's work, implying it makes your retina's hurt.
If I state why I don't like a certain control layout on a camera, that is opinion. If I state that people who use a given camera are horrible photographers or morons or something along those lines, that is technically also an opinion, but one that is rude and inappropriate for this forum.
I think most of us here know how to express ourselves and our own opinions without having to turn it into a disparaging remark or slip a little jab in there.
You seem to have a difficult time with that though. For example, you could of been civil and simply said "how I often state my opinions in camera gear threads" but no...... you had to say how I "endlessly" state my opinions in "all" the camera threads.
So now people annoy you who like saturated images in addition to annoying you because they are an active forum member who post a lot and who happens to have owned a whole bunch of cameras.
Between the pain to your retina's and my endless posting in gear threads this forum must be torture to you

Grow up, I just stated my opinions on color saturation. I even said carry on, so I don't get your "approval" quip.
Save your drama for your mama as we say here in the states! Now you have a good day!
I wish Fred didn't remove my original reply. It is a better one for you.

Yikes I had no idea this thread would go this way, I thought we were all just posting images and having a bit of a laugh, sharing ideas etc! I certainly enjoy seeing what people post and how they see things and what they do from all different parts of the world... And how they use their particular camera of course.
We're all mature and open enough to take critiques but it is not as simple as that.
Firstly, this is an image thread, not a critique thread. So the etiquette is to really share images and ideas and discuss what we like or even more general things just about what's happening. So if you give critique, feedback, or express something you don't like in someone's image, you have to be careful with how you do this, as it's generally just not the place to do so. Whether we all want to learn and grow or are happy with our directions and content, there is a time and a place for everything.
The other side of this is exactly how you present such an opinion in a forum, which isn't a free flowing face to face conversation. We're just stating small extracts which people read and reply to, it's very fragmented, difficult to understand tone (especially when people often just type quickly on mobiles these days). There is a difference between openly discussing a topic which you hold an opinion on, and stating an opinion as if it is above that of others. This is where you need to pay attention with wording and tone as much as possible if writing quickly. For example, I post in the wedding forum, if I go there and start stating how terrible their "epic portraits" are because you can't even tell who the people are in them, it would not go down very well. It would be condescending.
But if I had such an opinion and wanted to discuss it, there would be a time and a place and a proper way of communicating it - and that does and has happened there. And that forum is largely unruly compared to the Alt folk, so I think it says something.
[these are just my general findings and opinions and aren't aimed at anyone person, just sharing my perspective]
Now, back to photos! In a few weeks I will begin prepping my annual album, which will be 90% RX1 images, so will post some... If usable
I rather like these. I think they are closer to the late Ektachromes (E100G etc.) than Kodachrome. How did you do it?
A year or so ago I found a box of slides in a cupboard, which turned out to be from Ormiston Gorge, a somewhat similar area in central Australia. They had been shot on Astia, some with a polariser. I remember thinking as I scanned them that, if I were doing it again on film and it hadn't already been discontinued, I'd have taken E100G. Ormiston Creek is probably the #1 cliche in Australian landscape photography; it's not as if no "straight" pictures of it exist.

Thank you for everyone’s comment, opinion and criticism. I appreciate and understand.
I am into photography 6 years ago missed most glory time of film age .
No you didn't. THIS is the glory time of film photography. We still have many great emulsions available, the best ever made AND film cameras are incredibly cheap. I bought a $1600 medium format film camera for a paltry $350. Mint condition, brand new practically. There are an almost endless supply of bargins out there.

Thanks, The picture was taken with Polarizer ON, actually, it is almost what I see from EVF already with CPL. You should try VSCO if you like to get some film look, there are few slide film simulation available from their pack 4. It will give you some good starting point with it, I slightly tweak some red/orange/yellow and blue channel as well. For sky, turn down blue L channel usually will do the trick.
It won't work most of time though. That case from SouthWest of US is pretty special.

Haha, Good for you. The reality is not many people shooting film. There is only one system I always have a dream about: contax 645 with 80mm f2, but they are very expensive.
Derek, you are a master for 35mm bird shot, it is all about photographer.

".....not many people shooting film." Why in the world is that important? Look at the flickr film groups. The 6 or 7 I subscribe to have 150,000 or more images. I think there are enough film shooters out there, even though I cannot begin to understand why that is important.
The Contax 645 is indeed one of the few more pricy film cameras. And it sure is great, but so damn large. I have a 6 x 7 film camera that can fit in my jacket pocket. The Contax 645 is a veritable beast by comparision.
A Contax RTS III used to be a $2500 camera which today can be had for a fraction of that price.

I can't recall seeing any hummingbird images with a wide angle before, very interesting!
thanks guys! i have a few with c/y 35/1.4 wide open and the contax g 28 as well in a7 thread. still working on the getting a good wide open one on the rx1. it's much harder with rx1 since it doesn't have wireless and my cable release is only a foot long. all these shots were taken with me standing close enough to grab the birds. sadly the most colorful of the hummers that lives by seems to skittish to shoot in this way.
