Brody,
I agree - I just purchased a used RX1R and this makes the 4 time I sold and re-purchased the truth is you don't realize how great this camera is until you no longer have it......this time I hope I have the will power to keep.
This camera just plain works!!

I dont think I've ever seen so many fantastic images in one thread.
Can I please have a book made of the "Best of RX1(r) thread."
The work in here is so good I almost get nervous posting my random shots.
You are all so talented and it makes me really happy to see the RX1 community flourish.
It's funny but deciding to sell my camera was the best thing I've done for my photography in a long time.
To be clear, I decided to keep my RX1 but I dont think I would have "rediscovered" my love for the camera unless I had considered letting it go.
Anyway, rambling here...

Used prices just keep on getting better on these. I paid basically half the new value (from my first time purchase lol)
Great camera at any price, but maybe not something you shoot with all the time. As such, its maybe a little easier to rationalize a $1500 or less RX1 added to the toolbox, vs a $2200+ RX1, which maybe felt like too much cash tied up.
At least it did for me. I'm still not using the RX1 all the time, but for how little I paid and how nice the images are its fits really well enough to cost/performance rationalization

For me I wanted a CSC which I would be happy to leave the 5DM3 at home for, I tried the EM-1 and Ricoh GR and whilst great, I still kept picking up my 5DM3.
Now I carry the RX1R everywhere, and I don't feel like I'm missing out.
I'd like to be able to rely on AF more for street photography because I like using wide apertures, but often it focusses on the background if the subject is too small in the scene - doh.

I truly love the Sony RX1. I have bought and sold the RX1 and RX1R twice now. I keeping selling the camera thinking a better replacement is in order (A7, A7R, X-E1, etc.). To make a long story short I have purchased another RX1R (used).
Every time I look at these photos and other photos I have taken from the RX1, I'm reminded why the camera is so special.

I'm curious, what did you like less about the A7 / A7R / X-E1? I love the photos in this thread, but I'm wondering what difference(s) you found in the photos after having experienced those other cameras? Thanks.

i can't speak for brode11, but the lens is better than any of the 35mm equivalents offered by sony or fuji and the camera is smaller with better build. the a7 (and probably x-t1) has a better evf and AF though. the rx1 is a more responsive camera with the exception of AF – the difference in shutter feel and lag is huge between the rx1 and a7.

Not the best image - But this camera can shoot directly into the sun and still have the dynamic range to pull shadows like no other camera I've tried including my D800e.
