How beautiful, Derek! So light and airy, like she's an angel that may fly off at any moment.

what are you shooting mostly these days ricoh gr or fuji?
Ricoh. (The Fuji is fine, but I only use it when I need wider or longer.) There's no doubt that RX1 has better file quality, but I tend to prefer GR because of the focal length, the handling, the small size and also the colors in some situations.

Such a mistake
I seem to remember that you have left yours at home on a couple of trips and didn't have any regrets.
RX1 has "produced" some of my best shots though and sometimes I enjoy doing small DoF stuff, so it's not an easy decision. We'll see today when I start packing the camera bag... At least I wouldn't have to bring an extra charger since the mobile phone charger works for RX1 too.

That's really comparing apples and oranges. Short city trip (1, not even a couple) vs a 2 week trip to Shetland. The RX1 isn't my main street camera. I've never left it at home for landscape/scenery/nature/... because the files are so good.

Wow Derek! Not too many people would post that shot. In fact not too many really know what that is! My wife is a labor and delivery nurse at Sutter Hospital here in Santa Cruz, so I'm quite familiar with your pic. In fact, we just took ours out of the freezer after 2 years and planted it under our new lemon tree!!
Congrats on the baby!!

It's not right for a camera this small to be this competent. It just captures things the way my eye sees them. I bought this to take informal snapshots of my daughter from close up (my Leica 35's minimum focusing distance is too far, and my Sigma 35 f/1.4 is gigantic), but I find that I am getting some of my best pictures of her with this little camera. Love it!
