Funny, Carsten and Jochen (and thanks!).
Can't resist having a look in some of those threads though... I have been waiting for something like the A7(R), and Fuji X-E1 was only meant as a temporary solution. However, I really enjoy using it, so I think I'll stick with my current gear for a while longer.

Helena,
We have all missed you, great to see your shots again. Glad to see that sense of play and fun that you put into your images
Are you getting the A7?

Welcome back Helena!
Must have been a fun trip in Peru.
Thanks! Yes, it was great. Lots of interesting things to see and the locals are friendly and welcoming, but it was frustrating to be with a group, so I don't think we'll do that again any time soon.

Thank you very much! I thought I would get A7 and the Fuji was only meant as a temporary situation, but most of the time I'm happy with it, so right now I'm unsure. The main reason is native lenses, but also that I'm having some issues with the RX1 which make me reluctant to get another Sony camera. We'll see, some days I'm very tempted.

Yes, I understand. Having a private guide instead of being in a group is so much better for your photography and more expensive but well worth it.IMHO.
Sorry to hear you are having troubles with your RX1. What is wrong with it?

Yes, something to consider for another trip. Two friends did that on a recent trip to Africa and say it was a great way to travel. Usually we just rent a car and travel on our own though, but we didn't feel comfortable doing that in Peru since we don't speak Spanish and hadn't visited South America before..

Sometimes it changes aperture by itself (in A mode) and when I review photos it often jumps back into photography mode. Also, since I didn't know that Sonys has a coating that wears off I didn't use a protector and now the screen looks awful. None of my other cameras have needed this and I have been quite careful with it. Image quality is amazing though.
