I gave in to GAS and picked up a used RX1 earlier this year, which has been a great travel camera. I've been taking it, along with the RX100 to get some zoom and for when I want something that really fits in a pocket.
But I still think the smaller size and weight of the RX100 makes it perfect to take along when I'm skiing, and it's that time of year again
I've been thinking about an RX100 camera for quite some time. But the sensor size has worried me. And it's this shot above that has finally convinced me that I couldn't live with the small sensor. That's just ISO 2000 and it's like plastic in its rendering. That similar to lighting I'd often use (though, I see the shutter speed could have been a lot slower to help, but that's beside the point). The point is that the camera doesn't handle slightly poor light. Hmph!
I just picked up the original as I wanted something easy to keep with me all the time. Loving it so far.
Thinking of changing it up for the 2 though as I have the underwater housing for that model. The camera still fits and everything works except that I have to put pressure down as I zoom. Are the other benefits of the 2 significant?
I would consider a newer one but I prefer the 100mm to the 70mm at the long end.
