Really nice image!
You mention "modified for full spectrum" does this mean IR converted or other?
That Zeiss glass looks nice!

It is modified for full spectrum. Has a clear filter in front of sensor so I can shoot (with proper filter attached to lens) Ultraviolet, regular color, infrared or any intermediary in betweens. Since I have a large collection of filters UV, various IR from 665 to 1000 and various color filters I have a lot of choices how I want to shoot. If I want normal color I use a B+W 489 filter which eliminates IR and UV. Though action shooting of IR is not possible for that I use my IR converted 5D MKII which has a 715 filter in front of the sensor.

The Zeiss IR lenses are great I have the 25,50 and 85 they add a special coating to eliminate hotspots.

Like the Vintage Rust, The straight on shot but with the shadows showing the shape of the valves and terrific colorization.

Glorious florals, Jerry.....you just keep posting better and better stuff in here.

Larry, I think you can shoot BIF with the best "birders" around. Those small aircraft are extremely fast and you caught them with fine clarity.

Thanks Peter, it's amazing what can be found in our neighborhood!
A few more from today's shoot, the 1st a heavy crop, I'm liking the extra MPs of the 50D, will check out the 100 mac on the 50D soon. I'm really looking forward to FF and the 5D3. Same setup, Lightroom v3.6 used for PP...

Peter that's a huge compliment especially because those were relatively easy shots for me. NOT because I'm very good but because Canon has provided me with bodies & lenses that can lock onto such fast moving targets. When Canon introduced the 5D3 & Nikon countered with the D800 I spent a lot of time researching both brands relative to my interests, even though I've been shooting Canon since 75. Sorry to say Nikon simply put couldn't meet those needs, even with 3rd parts lenses. No matter how much a 36 Mpixel body might help with my heavy crops (thanks to the planes being way out there) there simply aren't any Nikon mount lenses capable of locking on the planes as they fly by at 100 + MPH right in front of me. These are a much better sample of what Canon has helped me capture thanks to their engineering. (they are smaller & faster than the previous images).

1DlV & 28-300 L IS at 1/200 and in this one the blurred background is a bit overboard thanks to the distance covered.

This one is a bit larger than those above but not as big as my earlier post.

There aren't many opportunities for me to slow down my shutter speed when shooting these events but when I know I've got enough of what the organizers want I go into experimental mode to see just how good my gear is. Compared to the days when I shot car racing using a pair of A 1's with MF lenses where you pre focused on an area that you thought might produce the "money shot" life is MUCH simpler thanks to progress.

Larry, those are amazing flights at 1/200 sec. Hell, I couldn't shoot a south american condor at 1/200 sec, let alone anything smaller/faster. Also, the 28-300L probably has a similar AF response to 100-400 ? Like, not exactly a speed demon ?
