Look way way up....it's twinkling at you right now...
Please say Hi to Larry or Carlos if they are around...
Edd
Another sunny summer day in Anchorage, so I wasn't able to see the twinkles way up there. I probably better start dressing better though. I did indeed say hello for you, but they probably just thought I was a nut. The two were really busy as there was only standing room at times. BTW, best Halibut sandwich I've had to date! The home-made fries alone would be reason to visit.
Canon 40D and the kit lens, 28-135mm. Right now that is the widest lens I have unfortunately and it is not that good. My old Canon S2IS takes clearer shots than this lens.
Peter, I was scrolling down the page, got just this much of the pic in view, and thought for a second I was seeing an old guy in green tights with a yellow tail coat, a red bluetooth device on his ear, blowing his nose in a sack...
and then I scrolled a little further. Sigh.

Jess, you've got a good mental cognitive imagination visualizing power of picturing things in your mind.

And you are a master of concision. I suppose your branch of engineering (previous life) calls for considerable design redundancy, dunnit, oh gears master?

You are so right, bruder Jess. My daily bread for most of my professional life were coincidence logic circuits and backups upon backups.
Back we go to our main theme: three types of summer fishing on lake Ontario today.
1DX + 400 f/5.6.

AND he's also into circuits/logic, did you also OR or NOT...please tell me you didn't XOR or I might think you knew about gates before Gates knew of his existence. And Peter, if you speak in Threads...well..your cover's blown dude So is it rocket man, secret agent or mad scientist, I wonder?
My dad was a rocket mechanic, electronics tech in the military (Navy, ASROC, SUBROC) he taught me a few things about resistors and capacitors (not to touch the later) among other things
My brother-in-law currently heads up Rocketdyne (1st with Rockwell, now Pratt-n-Whitney/ULA) the Shuttle engines and now Delta's including the Heavy IV, were/are his babies. Pretty cool stuff, it's always fascinated me, kept my attention. Guess It's not surprising I ended up designing software; Architecture just wasn't meant to be...damn Assembly Language
BTW Peter, your 1DX images are looking better...I think!? As is the 400 5.6L

Jerry, I see you've got some high tech pedigree there.
My entire working life was spent in nuclear power industry, where redundancies in gears, personnel, procedures and reasoning is (or should be) a way of life.
As far as 1DX for BIF application is concerned, given the current scarcity of suitable flying targets in my area, I am afraid I am a very long way off from being able to understand the camera performance.

Well mad scientist, who'd a guessed! Don't know much about NP except that they expel really warm water and that makes for some mighty fine, kinda comfortable surfing. Born n raised in SoCal I spent many a weekend gliding along waves out front of the San Onofre NPP.
The only downside to the lovely warm water is the plethora of less than friendly critters it attracts, namely sharks and stingrays. They are better at surfing and some don't play well, they either nibble or eat you...something that just throws off your balance for some reason.
Now that I think about it, perhaps it's better to be Terra Firma bound

Hi,
Peter: Looks like you're having fun with the new gear; enjoy!

JohnnyMike: Thanks for doing that...the "Dynamic Duo" were a real comic relief during my trip. I will most certainly have dinner and a pint or two there on the next trip.
