Last evening my wife and I walked through Butchart Gardens (Victoria BC) and studied the Japanese Gardens.
Butchart's is world renouned and visited by thousands of people each year.
3 photos taken with my 7D and 10-22 w/a between 6:30 and 7:00 last evening.
hope you will enjoy these...
Lucky
*note.. I live near the gardens and it took a member from Tennessee to help me spell "Butchart" correctly... Thanks Ed ..and I love your sunflowers and wee visitors images!
Looks like you had a great visit to Butchart Gardens, LuckyStrike; I've visited several times, but never at a climactic time for the Japanese Gardens...beautiful place, beautiful photos...
Edd, I loving your trip to Maine; my only visit was my first excursion with digital photography equipment; an eye-opening trip from every angle .
Meanwhile, in Tennessee...
I'm having fun with some of my blooming sunflowers...
The first two were made with the 1D MarkIV and 70-300L, the third with a 100L macro on a 5DII...
Bonus: zebra-striped white wolf spider
A little snaggle-toothed, this one...
I love the geometry of these - even the back side...
Shot of the wife in some extremely rare (for where I live) late-afternoon post-storm sunglow. I actually had to cool the photo down a bit, as the "natural" color looked way orange. 5d2 and 70-200 IS 2.8

After several tries (and valuable input from Tony aka imagemaster - thanks Tony), am finally able to take a pretty decent hummer photo from my back yard...

Good Evening Peter & Crew,
The Maine trip is over for us now, just pulled out of Portland Station, about 2.5 hours down to Boston.
Jerry, Peter: Thanks for the comments, as it has been fun, but with the loons up here so plentiful I do wish I had at least the 400mm and 7D with me...next time for sure with the 500mm.
The loon in flight was a lucky grab, as the G10 is not good for moving objects, so I just followed-through like skeet, and locked on it. One of pairs got close (about 250 feet) from the dock, so that one was a heavy crop also. The rest of the photos are figured-out by the captions, as it is easier for you to read them than me explain them .
