With water and masthead pines (+100ft) all around, this is a perfect place to relax.
Peter: Absolutely stunning photos of the last moments of the dragonfly...
Will: I like the deep blue...
A few from the grove we are staying at with the G10. I wish I had brought some more serious gear though, as the folks from Audubon did a loon count (not visitors) this morning and it was at 15. I heard them at about 5:00am this morning, but had no kayak for access. I'm taking care of that part later today, so hopefully I will have some up-close.

Here's a Green heron and her ugly baby.
You can also see that sometimes one can be too close to a damn bird, and run outta frame, especially with the 800.

What beautiful work here, Peter! Especially the last duck, there; the expression says "So, a monopod at last...your arm finally wore out, eh?" The greens look great in all of them, but the next-to-last duck with the spots of red and blue really stands out...a pleasure to see...
Thanks,
Jerry

Edd -- Nice shots! Totally captures the mood. Good to see some G10 work -- great summer camera.
Thank you, and you run yours very well also...
Peter: I second Tenn.Jer's comments...you are making great images with that 800!
Will: I'm enjoying the travel photos up here in Maine. You would have a ball up here, especially north in the Bar Harbor/Arcadia region.
A from a walk to a local farm, and I had the pleasure of having some good conversation with a real Maine salt of the earth farmer. Need to come back here with some long L glass for the deer and moose that are on his property.
Time for a clam/lobster bake...and a sunset sail on the lake

Thank you, Jerry and Edd.....800L is a fine long range instrument, and I am happy with it as long as I do not use it for BIF photography like here.
