How's this for detail. Nankeen kestrel.

I had to re-load the original as there seems to have been some artifacts that were introduced (weird ghosting) when I uploaded the original file to PBase. It was quite a bizarre result. Anway, it seems to have been fixed now.

D800E + 300mm f2.8 VRII @ f5, 1/1250sec, ISO140

That is a very cool perspective on this beach in particular. Likely one of the single most dangerous places in all of Hawaii. Sigh makes me want to go back now.

Lance, I think there might be some issue with your kit. I can't quite make out if that dried blood on the beak is from insects or mice! I think I see bits of both on other regions of the beak.
