I always try and keep it simple for engagement shoots. I usually bring a couple speed lights, and my primes (24G, 35G, 85G and 105). The problem is.... I always tend to add a couple extra lenses for what-ifs and end up with too many. What do you guys do the keep it simple? Or are you like me, dragging every lens you own as a "just in case".
Normally no lights
I will carry D3x2 15, 24G, 35G, 85G
I also will normally have a Mamiya 645 Pro TL
Wife carries a D3 and 24-70 and also the Graflex in the bag.

You just hate being close to people, don't you.
For me, it sort of depends on what mood I'm in that particular day, where I'm shooting, which way the wind is blowing... Whatever I'm shooting, it's one camera and the TT LensChanger II with a couple of lenses in it. Or possibly one body with a 24-70 and one with a 70-200. Or something totally different. [should have specified what day of the week this engagement shoot is on]
Almost exclusively available light for me when shooting engagements though. Bridals I'll tend to bring the AcuteB w/ 3' octa + grid and use it when light starts fading, or where appropriate, but I try not to use it just because I have it.

I have my first shoot in a few weeks... I was planning on taking just the 58mm. Seems I'm ill equipped! I might look at taking 16, 35, 85 too. Although I wanted it to be fairly relaxed, so the idea of carrying all that extra stuff around with me isn't too appealing... :/
