So you DO have the weather proof kit zoom, you have to submerge it into water or something, it's a rite of passage

Yes, I got the weathersealed kit lens with it. No, I am not going to submerge a less than 8 hour old camera into water.

Maybe tomorrow.

He got some macro shots too:

I like the color/wb of Oly better, I think I am completely over XP1 now.

I know that the EM-5 probably won't match the XPro in high iso performance but have there been any comparisons to the X100? If it can match the X100 then I think that it will be a great all around camera for me.

I like both a lot, they are my favorite jpeg engines in general, but they are quite different. When the Fuji colors work in a photo, they just seem magical. But other times they'll seem a little flat. The Oly colors are more consistently pleasing for me.

While the oly looks nice (colours are a bit richer); the bokeh on the 12-50 is kind of lame; actually after looking at a few more images; I'm not horribly impressed with the 12-50; but then again maybe it is not a very fair comparison given that the 35 is not only a prime but a fairly decent lens.

Would make MUCH more sense to compare the 35/1.4 to the PanaLeica 25mm f/1.4, as they are both the same price, both the same maximum aperture, and both roughly 50mm equivalents in field of view. (and both are outstanding lenses)

Well here is a better comparison from the lens perspective (45 vs 60):

The Oly does surprisingly well except for the not so good white balance. Their JPEG engine here is probably helping them a lot and Fuji is hurting them.

Quote from the dpreview thread:
4. Although it may appear that Oly has a tiny edge in detail rendering in some places but this may due to characters of the lenses at particular f-stop.
5. I cannot see clarity that normally seen from Pro 1 due to no-AA filter. This may due to a poorly lit subject.

.

Ok, I also tried to take many pictures from these 2 cameras without tripod to see how E-M5's Ibis can mitigate its smaller sensor in this particular circumstance. From more than 20 pictures taken, it seems I can select 2500-3200 iso from Oly taken at f2.8 but had to negate to use iso 12,800 on Fuji at the same f-stop to get decently sharp pictures. So the IBIS gives Oly around 2 stops advantage over Fuji and Oly's images from iso 3200 is significantly better than Fuji at iso 12,800.

Sounds like the IBIS more than neutralize the 1 stop advantage Fuji has, especially for static object in low light which Fuji's AF excel in.
