I like B&H and think they have handled things fine. Although, I would guess the 5D3 frenzied, and likely their staff, would have benefited from a little status on the front page of their website...even if it said general things such as: "still waiting to receive our first shipment" or "first shipment being processed to pre-orders chronologically" or "first batch was shipped, if you didn't receive an email, our next shipment is expected next week" etc. But, retail is not my expertise, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on their approach. I recognize the world doesn't revolve around the 5D3. I think if they had given out specific info to anyone, they would have had TONS of calls which would have been pretty unproductive for their staffs' time, so I understand the No Comment approach.

Just ordered a body from MPEX and cancelled my Amazon order. Was sick of waiting for them.
Pre-ordered my 5DIII body yesterday afternoon from Crutchfield with a $140 rebate from fatwallet and a 5% gift card from Crutchfield. They showed out of stock at the time. But they called this morning to confirm the order and said it would ship out this Monday! Cancelled my pre-order from Amazon.
Not sure if they got another shipment in, or someone cancelled. I should have asked them. But they are showing out of stock again.
So if you want to save some money, preordering from Crutchfield might not be a bad idea. And I am getting mine sooner than if i waited for Amazon since I did not order from them till 3/14.
I've not had good luck with Fat Wallet in the past, I'm sure its worked for other people, but not me. I've had better luck with Mr. Rebates that pays you back to your PayPal account.

Never had a problem with Fatwallet and I've used them for years. They also pay you back to your paypal account.
And yep, Crutchfield has the kit in stock, for those wanting the cashback/crutchfield rewards etc for what I believe is the best deal available.
My kit will be here on Wednesday since I cheaped out on the shipping.
Early AM update, not sure why but why not.... Both BH and Profeel refunds have hit the VISA. Disputed the Profeel charge with VISA and they refunded half of the foreign exchange difference because I complained that Profeel didn't have the camera in stock as they promised on Wednesday and didn't say they were going to charge the VISA. Going to have to suck up the foreign exchange loss on the BH preorder as BH is up front with immediate charges to international customers. This will end up being a $200 hit Lesson well learned, no more preorders from the US!!
Good news is my Camera Canada order with matched US pricetag has made it from London ON to Richmond BC and now will have flown to Whitehorse over the weekend (well hopefully). Expecting to have delivery sometime on Monday

still waiting on my BH pre-order which was made on 3/2...must admit it is quite frustrating to see people receiving their cameras from all other retailers

We expect more EOS 5DMkIII cameras and camera+lens kits this week. I do not know the date or quantity at this time.
Still on backorder from BH - ended up getting one locally from San Jose Camera and will never pre-order online again. I know it's not the retailers fault that Canon decided to send stock to the "little guys" first this time around but I had hoped otherwise.

As a B&H customer since the 1980s, I am very disappointed that I can not get any idea whether they will ship prior to their shutdown. I have a trip next week and if they are not going to ship before their holiday, I need to pursue other options. I have friends that ordered from other retailers a week after I did and already have the camera.

Unfortunately there's no way for us to know until we see how many we've received. I hate to say, "I don't know," but when that's the honest answer IMO it's better than stringing you along with false hope or overoptimistic promises.
Thanks for the update Henry and your patience in listening to all of the gripes here on FM. Had I not delayed, I would have ordered from you, but realized there may be thousands of people ahead of me.
