HA! That's awesome, in our attic I have a bunch of LP's and 12" singles from the 80's. My kids are always making fun of the "oldies" that I sing around the house all the time Wow, this thread has officially been hijacked, but a fun hijack at least

Talk about dancing - what about The Talking Heads or Devo come to mind, I'm sure there are MANY more . And I went to a couple Oingo Boingo concerts in my day and didn't feel so bad about my lame dancing after watching Danny Elfman on stage... now, so this isn't a total hijack, what I wouldn't give to take an OM-D back in time to video Oingo Boingo in low light

Never listened to much Oingo Boingo, but it is nice to see someone who knows Danny Elfman as something other than the composer of soundtracks for Tim Burton movies...

Now the Talking Heads and Devo, now were talking. I was at the Talking Heads show in 1980 at Radio City Music Hall and Central Park (immortalized on vinyl) with the expanded line-up that included Adrian Belew, Nona Hendrix and Busta (Cherry) Jones -- just f****** brilliant.

But it doesn't matter. We're comparing two different cameras here. Obviously, if a camera is better per pixel than another of the same resolution, it will be better in a larger print, but if you have a 12MP camera on one hand, and a 16MP camera on the other, but the 16MP camera is only 5% noisier at the pixel level, it will still produce a cleaner print at ANY size.

I thought it was obvious as well and that's basically all that I was stating. It is the case also though that there is not always a 1:1 relationship between MP's and resolution so I don't think blanket assumptions work. There is more to it then just the MP's and the amount of noise with regard to potential print size.

Bueller!

Danny Elfman and the resulting soundtrack to all those great Tim Burton films is about all you can say about Oingo Boingo. Some groups produce music which remains relevant and seems to transcend their era (Talking Heads, R.E.M for me) while others not so much (Oingo Boingo, Duran Duran and maybe OMD).

Music and photography are definitely related, one touches the senses through the ear and the other through the eye. I think that is part of why a lot of my clients loved the slideshows put to music, when done right, it is a powerful and emotional tool.

That is brilliant, I had no idea they were doing a Ferris Bueller 2! I absolutely loved that movie, and hearing the classic song "Oh Yeah" from Yello in the trailer also brings back memories, in fact, I still have that album, now I'm going to have to listen to it on my iPhone

Regarding Oingo Boingo - I guess you had to grow up on the west coast to appreciate them, my wife grew up on the east coast and she too never saw the point of their music Oh well, I've often found myself drawn to the unique

I enjoyed them in the 80's, along with Missing Persons. Just falls into that category of groups I seldom currently listen to. Perhaps it is an east coast/ west coast thing.

Me -- East cost, New York. No Oingo Boingo. Talking Heads, Patti Smith, Television, Blondie, Ramones, Suicide, The Dolls, Polyrock -- local product from the era. Most notable band from the West Coast was probably X.

Local product - definitely. I would have loved to have been in the NYC Art/ Music scene at that time. I grew up not that far from Athens, GA hence R.E.M, B52's, etc. I guess I was influenced equally by East Coast/ West Coast as well as New British Invasion stuff (New Order, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Susie and the Banshies, The Clash, The Specials/ 2 Tone Ska, etc.).

So, about this OMD...
