Very nice - edgy. It looks very bright did you use a ND filter?
No, didn't use any kind of filter. I took the pictures a few hours before sunset, so the Sun was pretty low.
I just pulled and pushed some sliders in LR to make them look brighter (+1ev and and more edgy (more contrast, darker blacks/shadows, a bit sharpening and more clarity mostly did this).
@about the Daffodil vs. Narcissus discussion: in The Netherland the flower is called Narcis, so I looked it up (using the same wiki posted above) to be sure about the name.
@ucphotog: very typical cat's eye effect, was surprised by it too. Didn't see it before with the Zeiss. Maybe because I don't use it much with highlights in the background.

Yes, and they also eat it in many S.E.asian countries. Even grow it like an crop. And I see them in every color also
I would probably call them holy or sacred in Thailand where I stay. Every temple have lotus flowers. And nearly every person going into a temple to pray and give offerings will bring lotus flowers. Often 10-20 people sit outside a temple just to sell the flowers. And sometimes you can see people go down on their knees in parks in front of the lotus flowers
Lotus plays a great role in spiritual life of most S.E.A countries and Buddism uses the image of this beautiful flower to it's religion.Lotus is used for worship at home or in pagoda and for funeral, in Vietnam, never bring Lotus to your new girlfriend or wedding.
