Stefan, emphasizing the outside instead of the inside in the last two images is a very interesting approach, I've never seen this before. I like it! - For opening the piano I do not deserve any credits, it was already open when I found the room.
Philippe, thanks for your kind words - and sorry about appearing intimidating! To put these kind of images a bit in a context: they are less about photography in a narrower sense, but more about a longer process of dealing with images in post processing. All these images usually consist of more than 20 raw-images, with different exposures and different angles of view. In post-processing I put these together separately for exposure, contrast and color and with individual settings for each part of the image. This takes usually a few hours for each image. Hence it's not so much about taking a good photo or not (a somehow different kind of photography), but more about a long procedure.
Markus, now I understand a bit why your pics are so detailed and light at the same time. I love the big perspectives most, like in the last one. You may have overcompensated keystoning though.
Wow! Another amazing set of pics from both of you! What immediately came to mind is that Stefan is a bit of a Dark Knight, which of course makes Ulff the Jedi... Maybe my not going there wasn't such a bad thing really, I wouldn't have liked to have to post in the same thread as you guys. I still want to do the next ones though...
Of your triplets, I like your first one best, Ulff. Your very special PP produces a very real impression of all the past still being there.
Stefan, maybe your strongest images so far. Ruthless composition (this is a compliment!) in the first one, very atmospheric in the second, and a strange almost-like-neons lighting in the third, contrasting with the obvious abandonment. Great stuff, both of you!
It would be great if you could make it! Yeah, it is a fairly unique situation here. I am sure there are lots of old and rundown places in the States interesting enough to photograph, but to have these guys setting up tours is just fantastic.
Philippe, funny star wars based characterization of the Stefans and may image style! . Technically I think the difference is mainly that Stefan stresses the global contrast whereas I emphasize the micro contrast or textures of the scenes. Very strong compositions again, Stefan! I think I like the first most, although the window shadow makes the 2nd image special, too...
Carsten, I would really like to join the Märchenschloss (I already planned it), but have to work at this date. Maybe I should wait until spring when the days get longer and warmer again...
Markus, I regret not to be able to come back there again, you show so many more views I missed. especially the first one is stunning.
Philippe, it's great to read your comments.
So here comes the next dark knight set :
Carsten: Unfortunately I am not in Berlin that weekend. And the remaining two weekends I am in Berlin this year, everything sold out.
Markus, calling Stefan the Dark Knight doesn't characterize him as Darth Vador, it makes him Batman! Otherwise that would oppose the two of you, whereas it is great to have you both
Stefan, i'll see what I can do about that December date.
Philippe: great news.
Even if we can't come in, we could make some pics from the outside. I am the whole weekend there, though. In case it would be easier for you on, say Saturday.

Sinar Hy6 with Sinar eMotion 75LV back. The prices have dropped enormously recently, and I was finally able to buy this dream combination.
Congratulations, this will be fun to experiment with from everything I read about the back!
There is a potential snag here though: apparently the back loves good light, and long exposures are less its thing, so I am not sure how good it will be for UrbEx'ing. I will find out though!
