Hmm, you quoted 10 photos to ask about one? Maybe you could be a bit more thrifty next time
Answering for Ulff, since we were there together: it is Heilstaetten Beelitz, near Berlin, Germany. No idea why the doors are newer...
Thanks for stepping in and answering this, Carsten!
Regarding the doors: most probably I retouched it to look newer (although I don't remember). Isn't it among the first things you learn about retouching: smooth the skins of females in portraits and let doors look as new as possible in interior shots?
We could probably pick a couple-a-three of those. I would be interested in any of this, but most are interesting primarily at dusk, and so we still have a full day to dispose of. Is anyone interested in nature? Grunewald, Müggelberge, Tiergarten, lots of choice here.
Okay, everyone react quickly please. go2know has just added a new tour to the program, Das Chemiewerk (The Chemical Factory), and there is a date on the 9th of June. Here:
Are we doing this? I would like to. 4 hours, from 12-16, so there will be time for other things as well. We should sign up quickly, it might be booked very fast, so if you are in, let us know here, and once we are a few, we will sign up ASAP.
Hm, I'm not sure. It looks very grey, dark and melancholy.
Here is a video about this place:
I think I would prefer some nature shooting like Müggelberge in the afternoon followed by some of the viewpoints/landmarks, when the light gets better. But if the majority would like to do this Chemiewerk tour, I will probably join you.
I see great perspectives in the video, so I would join.
As an alternative I could suggest "Teufelsberg", a former american reconnaisance facility during the cold war: A german documentary or try google picture search "Teufelsberg".
As far as I know, the fences at Teufelsberg have been fixed and there are patrolling security guards. go2know do makes tours there, but not on that date.
I was there ages ago, back in my Nikon Coolpix 990 days, before much of the real destruction took place, and even then, it was interesting, but not fantastic.
Boris, I agree that the video was not visually all that interesting, but I see many rooms and spaces in the video which I think could be done much better, and would be interested in going there. I would also go to one of the green spaces, but maybe we have time for both?
Looks like we will need some cars, as it is about 5km from either S-Bahn Fredersdorf and S-Bahn Erkner. Or we could all rent bicycles and take the S-Bahn close and ride the rest Cars are probably better. I prefer not to drive if not necessary, but can bring our car if needed, and in that case take 3-4 others, 4 only if one is small and 2 others not too big Good places to meet up with cars are probably around Frankfurter Tor for cars coming from the centre, like myself, or perhaps close to the Berliner Ring for cars coming from the edges of Berlin. I will let other drivers chime in on where they would like to pick up people (unless we meet earlier, in which case forget this comment).
Note the option to pay on site. I always take that option, and they don't mind, as I know them well by now. Let me know if someone needs help navigating the site, or PM me if you want me to reserve you a ticket as well. Philippe, I will book a spot for you with mine, and we can sort it out later.
