And a wedding she shot with me a few weeks ago. There's a lot more on my blog if you're interested. These shots interested me most. C&C appreciated. I'll let Haley post up hers if she's got em as well. Thanks! -Matt

I sure wish I had the balls to shoot things intentionally out of focus. I have always loved the look of that but just can't bring myself to do it. argh. I have to tell you, though...your work is my favorite of anything I am seeing posted on her recently.

jealous much?
Not really the jealous type, just isn't my style. On the set Haley posted, she only showed one OOF image I think, and of the ones shown in this thread that's my favorite OOF one.
Maybe it's the fact that it was multiple images is what bothered me more than anything.

thanks errbody. i definitely appreciate the comments and thoughts.
evan, glad you like the one of the flower girl. i actually thought of several of your flower girl shots during the day, as this one was just full of photographic gold. like this that i forgot to post here: http://mdavidmedia.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/MJ-046.jpg
as far as the OOF shots go, haley's was obviously intentionally OOF. and i loved it. kurtis, i'm assuming the other OOF shot you're referring to is 12. that was shot with an old 120 folder with only zone focus shot at max aperture (i think 4.5 for that lens) just to get enough light to the film as it was getting dark. that shot just reminded me of something from the 40's or 50's. i think that's why i like it so much but it was never meant to be OOF. just a happy mis-estimation of distance.

Nice set but honestly I don't get the OOF shots. Nor do I get the "looks-like-they-were-shot-with-a-poloroid-and-on-camera-flash" shots like #18 & #21.

I do understand the intentional OOF thing. I can count on my hand the number of times I've done it, and it's obvious in that one that it was intentional, and I don't dislike that one.
12 to me felt like an accident that was given a film treatment. Although you've now explained that away, so nevermind I guess - it just probably wouldn't have made it through culling for me but I can see the sentimental value there for you as the photographer.
I don't know how I feel about 18 & 20. Were those actually shot on Polaroid or is that processing?
15 would be my favorite if it was cropped - that would make a hell of an album spread.

thanks jim. 18 and 21 were shot with a fuji instax. no photoshop there. just instant film but totally understand that's it's not your style. i appreciate the feedback.
