Too many good shots to mention all, but I really like your shot Carsten. And Luka, I like all but particularly #1 and #4 - love the feel of depth in all these three shots. I think I need a more speedy Zeiss'..
Today the post office gracefully handed over one "as new" Vario-Sonnar 28-85 F/3.3-4 to me. Some first test-shots from the afternoon. The last shot looks to me like it has a lot of PP, but it is only one Levels adjustment. Sharpness is definetly impressive across the frame, sometimes some CA appears when used wide. I think I am going to like this lens. It's not very small. But it dont matter much since I plan to use it on the 5D2.
Note the exotic push-pull thingy, we Canon fanboys may have got acquainted to it through the 100-400L. Feels a bit strange that the wide-end makes it look like a Tele :-)
VS28-85 is great, although 4% linear distortion @ 28mm can really get in the way. I also don't much like One-Touch zoom (CZ patented). Have barely used mine in a decade of ownership but, then, I'm not a big zoom fan.
I suspect it mean that I can expect mirror issues. If so I could as well go for a Nikon ZF version with manual aperture - or a ZE. What would you do, after all the 50/1.4 is reasonably priced new.

I have CY50/1.4 in MM version (green f16 aperture number) and it works on my 5d2 without any problem.
Thanks Dergiman. I hear (done a lot of googling) that it's a bit of a gamble. The one I'm currently looking at is a AE version. Some seem to work, some others wont. I should probably pass this one :-(
Took a trip to Palo Duro Canyon near the Texas Panhandle to do a little hiking and scouting for future photo locations. Test shots were taken with the CZ 35-70 on a 5D2, using a Singh-Ray LB Color Combo polarizer. Great lens for when one would like to "travel light" (although on this trip the 35 end was a bit long...until the N24-85 arrives).

I like that second shot! Have you tried printing it?
Thanks very much. No haven't tired printing yet...these were taken at about 2pm or so in the afternoon when the light wasn't the best. Next trip, I plan on waiting it out for the setting sun to light things up from the left side of the frame. Here's another view from a slightly different and lower angle:
I prefer the first of the two. The ledge on the right sort of counter-balances the stone on the bottom left, and that stone is just much more interesting than the rubble in the second shot.
Thanks for your comment Carsten and rico. I never bothered too much about distortion, but I know some people dont like it. I rarely correct, but on some motifs (straight lines) it can make a difference.
Mike Ganz, nice shots and very Wild West in my ancient European eyes, just waiting for a 4-horse stagecoach to appear :-)
Regarding CY 50/1.4, even the AE versions, I hear that it's quite easy to adjust for usage on a 5D2. If you're unlucky you only have to file down an aperture lever or something. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
A few more from the CY 28-80. First is F/3.3 then F/8. Focal ranges varies from 28, then perhaps 40 and the last ~60.
CY 25/2.8 AEG
Not a lens that looks particularly great "on paper", but I find it has exemplary Zeissy character in actual use. Center is always extremely sharp, and the edges/corners (except for a patch at the very far corner) catch up nicely when stopped down. There is strong U-shaped field curvature away from the central focus at mid/close distances.

I did some heavy PP (for me) on these shots, something which I rarely do. Didn't know if they could be rescued at all, but they turned out great. Just for fun, here is the original of the last pic:
Thanks briantho. Like your portraits, and that lens is a stellar one. I think some colors enhance the bleak overall lighting we have, and your beautiful kid is worth it :-) I have trouble finding use for the G45 - need to practice more I think.
Here's more with the 28-85, some 3D vibes at F/3.3? The second is a 100% crop. The full image is actually a slight crop from the full capture.
