The fedex guy dropped off a 50 1.4 for me today so I had to sneak out during lunch and take a string of test shots. For all the crap people talk bad about that lens, it's not THAT bad (from my first impression). I took a string of shots trying to test it close/wide open, close/stopped down, far/wide open, far/stopped down. True it's not broken glass sharp close up wide open but it doesn't look bad on my 5D.
