Re: Zeiss Lens Photos and Discussion (see also ZE/ZF/ZM thread)

Does the Contax/Zeiss lens have auto-aperture on the Canon bodies?

It seems to be operating in that way (using the Fotodiox adapter).

Canon owners (or others) may be familiar with this on the 1Ds2 camera or others.

If it is auto-aperture on Canon bodies, that would be outstanding! That\'s one of my biggest gripes using Nikon AI/AIS lenses!

I haven\'t tried other bodies: 5D and 60D.

I\'ve hit a snag with the 80-200 testing.

Canon owners (or others) may be familiar with how to deal with this: The lens is staying wide open while on the 1Ds2 camera. The aperture ring changes the aperture when off the camera, unless the auto-aperture lever is manually engaged -- then it stays wide open. But on the camera, there must be connection that is keeping the lever pressed into the \"open\" position. Aperture ring does not provide changes in aperture when mounted on camera.

I haven\'t tried other bodies: 5D and 60D.

Ideas?
