A little while ago I started a post with no editorial comment other than perhaps somewhat inflammatory title called \"And there sat Canon with a thumb up it\'s A**\" which in its entirety said \"Without further editorial comment..... Check out the news sites, Nikon has gone and done it again. They have announced another version of our mythical 3D. \"
As some may recall, I was taken to task and told repeatedly to just wait to see what Canon came up in August. Well I waited and I admit that I am thrilled to death to see a talking printer. Preeeety cool and just exactly what the world needs is another female voice (real or otherwise) telling us when we screwed something up.
Now I know someone will think that I hate Canon and say something stupid like \"go buy a Nikon if you don\'t like Canon\" but that isn\'t and never was the point. Personally, I am disappointed and I don\'t feel that I have to be happy that they gave us a talking printer rather than something that would have been of value to myself and other serious photographers such as an improved flash system, better AF or updated lenses.
On the G11, even improvements come from fixing past mistakes rather than innovation I would give them points for both fixing those mistakes and being willing to buck the trend toward ridiculous MP counts solely for the purpose of being able to claim that theirs is bigger than everyone else\'s.
